UW Foundation Board Purpose Statement
The purpose of the UW Foundation Board is to partner with University Advancement to develop and strengthen the relationships and resources that fuel the University of Washington’s impact.
Opportunity
The University of Washington Foundation Board has an outstanding volunteer (unpaid) opportunity for a Student Representative Director. The Student Representative Director stays informed about critical issues impacting the University and champions the interests of current and future UW students and shares priorities with the Foundation Board.
Terms
The Student Representative Director serves in an ex-officio role (with full voting rights) with one-year renewal terms, October 2023 through October 2024, and officially elected at the Foundation Board Meeting on October 6, 2023.
General Responsibilities / Opportunities
- Attend UW Foundation Board meetings (3 times per year).
- October 6, 2023 | 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. | HUB Lyceum
- January 26, 2024 | 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. | HUB Lyceum
- April 25, 2024 | 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. | HUB Lyceum
- followed by annual Board dinner| 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- Participate in the annual New Director Orientation + Social
- September 2023 (date tbd) | UW President’s Residence
- The Student Representative Director serves as an ambassador on behalf of UW students, and brings the perspective of students past, present, and future.
- Opportunities to participate in UWFB committee work.
- Opportunities to participate/present at Foundation Board meetings and other initiatives.
