2025 Emeritus Director Luncheon with the Haring Center for Inclusive Education

The 2025 Emeritus Director Luncheon was truly a memorable gathering, bringing together our emeritus and current directors at the Haring Center for Inclusive Education.

We were honored to welcome University of Washington President Robert J. Jones, who shared his inspiring vision for the future of the UW. His remarks sparked thoughtful conversation about the opportunities and challenges ahead, and it was energizing to hear directly from our newest leader.

Following lunch, guests toured the Haring Center and had the chance to see children learning in inclusive classrooms. Witnessing the Center’s work firsthand was a powerful reminder of the impact of research and practice in creating environments where every child can thrive.

The day concluded with a dynamic panel featuring Foundation Board Representative Director Sherrelle Walker, Dr. Kathleen Artman Meeker, Dr. Gail Joseph, and Dean Mia Tuan. Together, they highlighted how the Haring Center and Cultivate Learning are transforming education through groundbreaking research, workforce development, and a commitment to equity and inclusion. Their dialogue underscored the importance of collaboration in shaping sustainable, responsive systems of learning.

The luncheon was both celebratory and forward-looking, leaving us inspired by the leadership, innovation, and dedication to inclusive education across the UW community.
